Overview

 Just a short stroll from the Louvre and the Marais, hidden behind large oak doors, a private courtyard hosts a surprisingly tranquil retreat within central Paris.

Originally built in the 19th century by Gustave Eiffel as a printing house, the building later played a secret role in the French Resistance, when underground papers that would shape history were produced here during the Occupation. Today the printing house has been converted into a contemporary townhouse that honors its remarkable past while offering unique volumes redesigned for modern comfort and elegance.

The property has remarkable architectural features. Gustave Eiffel’s wrought iron beams (the same beams used to build the Eiffel Tower) frame the space, a double-height cathedral window floods the space with natural daylight, and artist murals and installations pay homage to its printing house origins and creative spirit. Downstairs, an incredibly rare 1st-century Roman wall remains intact - a tangible fragment of Lutetia, the earliest version of Paris, built by the first Roman settlers!

Pompidou’s extraordinary combination of history and design has earned it international acclaim. In the heart of Paris, Pompidou loft is located in the vibrant Quartier Montorgueil, on a pedestrian area, in a surprisingly calm haven right in center of Paris and only a short walk from the Louvre, the Marais, Jardin des Tuileries and close to the Pompidou centre. Quartier Montorgueil is also famous for its incredible fresh produce largest market: sea-food, cheeses, pastries, fruit and vegetables and wines. It also offers a wide range of welcoming restaurants, bars and cafés and young designer's shops and workshops.
