Overview

In 2020, the quintessential colonial-style residence in Paraty underwent a complete redesign under the expertise of acclaimed architect Marcos Tomanik.

Spanning an impressive 1,500 m2, the property comprises six spacious suites, three of which boast stunning ocean vistas, all equipped with ample closets and expansive bathrooms. The flooring was revamped with exquisite ceramic imported from Spain.

Accentuating the interior are treasures amassed by the family from maritime antique shops over five decades ago, including authentic ship compasses, vintage diving gear, and replicas of English sailing vessels, complemented by maritime hues and tropical motifs.

Accommodations~

Ocean View Master Suite #1: Has a door overlooking the beach that lets in sunlight and sea breezes. With a king-size bed, retractable blinds on the ceiling that allow natural light to enter, and a spacious bathroom with a view of the sea.

Ocean View Master Suite #2:  Has a door with sea views and windows opening onto the Atlantic Forest. It is lit with natural light and has an ofuro-style bathtub, perfect for relaxing to the sound of its natural neighbors – which include hundreds of species of native birds that inhabit the region.

Garden Suite #5: Very airy. In addition to a high incidence of natural light, it has a king-size double bed, bathtub, and windows overlooking the house's delightful backyard – where you can find the vegetable garden and other delicacies that the family matriarch cultivated over the years there.

Boating~

Orca Speedboat: 25 feet, with a capacity for 8 people

The vessel offers a bathroom, sound system, container with ice, towels, aft shower with fresh water, salvage material, first aid, fruit and water, and gourmet space with barbecue.

Freeway Speedboat: 36 feet, with a capacity for 12 people

The vessel offers 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, a stereo, a container with ice, towels, an aft shower with fresh water, salvage material, first aid, fruit and water, and a gourmet space with barbecue and floating mat.

Trails~

The surrounding area features a 200m sandy beach strip, coconut, and palm trees, an orchard, an organic herb garden, and a meticulously maintained private garden boasting over 5000 Jussara Palms (Palm Hearts), Lychee, and Passion Fruits.

Guests can explore two ecological trails on the property, one winding through the botanical garden behind the main house, showcasing native plants from the Atlantic Forest and palm trees.

The second trail leads to the Tapera Fortress, an integral part of the property, featuring three cannons dating back to Brazilian Colonial times, aimed towards the sea. Originally constructed to defend against pirate invasions from Holland and England, the fortress offers a privileged vantage point, providing panoramic views of Paraty's Bay, including sightings of the Historic Center, the Calepinha church, and the Igrega Matriz, the city's main church.
